20th July - Masters Qualifier - Mid Cornwall Premier

On Sunday 20th July I was in Cornwall for the British Masters Qualifier. The track looked good with the starting gate on a hill which would prove to make the starts very interesting for the whole of the day.
In the first of the four heats I was first after being in second for three quarters of the race. In heat 2 I was second after the tricky up hill start caught a few of us out. I was third in heat number three. Here I had to work my way through the field as I was in last position going into the first bend but was able to gain places by sticking to the inside line. In the final heat I was forth. This was my worst finish in the heats but was enough for me to make the Semi Final. In the semi final I had a problem with the clutch which left me in last position again going into the first bend.

I managed to finish in fifth place which didn’t give me enough points to make the final but as the ninth highest point scorer I was named as the reserve.
The main objective of the day was to qualify for the British Masters which I managed so overall the day was very successful
